TYPE ANATOMY POSTER
The Goal: This project involves designing an 11x17” poster that showcases the Anatomy of Type by exploring key typographic concepts, including type families, anatomy, and specific typographic terminology. We must hand-draw the lowercase letter 'a' in six distinct type styles, scan and vectorize them, and integrate these into your poster. The project emphasizes monochromatic design, with a single chosen typeface, and requires extensive research, mood-board creation, and sketching before finalizing the poster for critique and submission.
Sketches
I create 24 design layouts on procreate, which were then looked at by peers to select the top 3 best designs.
6 a SKETCHES & VECTORS
6 different font typestyles were hand drawn and then vectorized on Adobe Illustrator to be incorporated into the final poster.
Draft Posters
I took my top three designs and create rough drafts of each in Adobe Illustrator. With peer feedback, I selected the best design and continued to finalize the poster.
Final Poster
All typographic vocabulary was incorporated into the poster.
